New Tricks

Just had to post a few pictures of Juliann's new accomplishments! She's been able to sit up for a few weeks now, but the other day she learned how to push herself up to a sitting position. I was shocked the first time I realized what had happened! She had been down for her afternoon nap on Wednesday the 20th and began crying. Sometimes she'll fuss and go back to sleep. Other times she's had enough and wants out NOW! Since she hadn't had her full nap yet I let her fuss for a few minutes. Suddenly she went from fussing to full out screaming. I went into her room only to find her sitting up in her crib! I couldn't believe it! I left her crying (I'm such a bad mom) to run and get the camera. This was something I had to document!
She was so upset because she couldn't figure out how to get back down onto her tummy or back. After I got her up and calmed her down, we went downstairs to play. I watched her repeat her new trick over and over again, quickly realizing that we'd need to lower her crib or we'd be in for some trouble! That night we attempted to lower her mattress and poor David cut his thumb in the process. :( A number of times recently we've gone in to get her up only to find her already sitting and ready for us!

Today was another first for Jules, but not such a big milestone as last week! I heard her moving around during her morning nap and could tell she was playing quietly with the stuff in her crib. She wasn't fussing or crying so I decided to let her play for a bit. A little while later it sounded like she had gotten herself back to sleep so I went in to check on her. I was surprised to find her sleeping like this:
She fell asleep with her little body between her legs. How cute is that?!? Thought you all might like to see what my little peanut has been up to lately!

Oh-and I had a few people tell me about problems with posting comments. New to this blogger thing I didn't realize I had to set it so that you all could post without having to create a profile or something. Anyways-problem fixed. Comment away!
