The Ellington Family: Friends and Visits

What a crazy weather week we experienced at the beginning of March. After 9 inches of snow, record lows of 10 degrees, and three days of closed schools, classes finally resumed two hours late on Thursday. Which meant I only worked 4 hours on Thursday and my week was over. :) Then, the weekend arrived and we were in the 80's! It was beautiful outside and we went on tons of walks with my parents, who were in visiting Jules. While I enjoyed our first real snow storm in many years, I now officially have a bad case of spring fever!

Juliann has had the chance to hang out with two of her friends recently. Mary Kyle came over with Kate for a play date (more for the moms than kids!). Since Kate is only 6 months old, Jules did most of the playing. It was so cute to see how she interacted with another "baby" and I was impressed with how gentle she was with Kate. At Romp 'N Roll, the kids are all about her age and they are all over each other! But she was hugging and kissing Kate and patting her head. It was adorable and Kate was being such a good sport! I think Jules realized she wasn't the littlest one and for the most part, she was okay with it. The only time she acted up was when she tried to get into Kate's carrier (very similar to the one Jules used as a baby before we got her big girl car seat). When I told her "no" she was not too happy with me!

Juliann's friend, Kendri, had her first birthday party in a sweeter than chocolate theme-yum! Too bad Jules can't have chocolate yet...just meant more for me! :) Jules had lots of fun with Kendri, like always, and seemed to take to her family too. She just walked right over to Kendri's grandmother and tried to crawl into her lap! The child is certainly not shy. Kendri racked up the gifts and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time!
