Getting Ready for Vacation

Before we left on our vacation we had a family dinner at a new restaurant on the river called the Boathouse. It had windows on all sides so you can view the river while you eat. We walked around a new development called Rockets Landing after dinner and took a few pictures.

On Wednesday the 2nd, I packed up the car and met Mom in Charlottesville to drop off Jules. It was hard leaving her but I was excited about going on vacation. We left Thursday morning from Richmond and had a connecting flight in Charlotte that was to take us to St. Maarten. Unfortunately after boarding for our 9:30 flight in Charlotte we were told the flight was canceled. :( We were stuck there until the next morning thanks to Tropical Storm Erika. Luckily both my brother and David's brother live in Charlotte so we had a place to stay. My parents were also on their way down to Charlotte for the evening with Jules on their way to Atlanta for the Tech game. We were able to meet up with Peter, Anne, Ryan, Meredith, Mom, Dad and Jules for dinner. It was a nice evening with family despite the rocky start to our vacation!
