Josie recovered fairly quickly from her eye surgery at the end of March. Although the swelling and scar were noticeable for a few weeks, she was back to her busy self only a few days later. In fact, she started to take more steps (she had taken a handful of steps prior to her birthday but not really walking) and by the third week of April was fully walking.
Here's a video of Josie working on walking two days after her birthday with Jules:
And about a week and a half later:
Spring break was the third week of April and we headed down to my sisters house to spend a few days with her and Ryan. While in Durham we went to a Durham Bulls baseball game (a first for the girls) and spent an afternoon at the beautiful Duke Gardens. The girls also had fun hunting for eggs in Heather's backyard.

The following weekend, Easter weekend, we had a photography session at University of Richmond. Previously, we had gone to a portrait studio to take pictures inside but a friend recommended a photographer who could take pictures of our family outside. On Saturday morning we headed over to U of R and had a wonderful time taking pictures. We were fortunate to get lots of great shots which I'll post in separate blog. Afterwards, we headed over to Maymont to catch the tail end of their Easter Celebration. We packed a picnic lunch and enjoyed watching all the people.

On Easter Sunday we headed to Emma Grace's first birthday celebration. The girls had a great time at the party which included a fun egg hunt, their second of the day! :) We had also dyed eggs earlier in the week that they found earlier in the morning.
