At the end of July, David's dad had a conference down in Virginia Beach and invited us down for the weekend. We quickly took them up on their offer and headed down to enjoy a few days in the sun and the sand! Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate with us the first day and we were run off of the beach after only 2 short hours by a pretty nasty thunderstorm. On the plus side-it was unbelievably hot (we all burnt our feet on the sand) and the rain cooled things down a bit. The downside was we had two sad little girls who weren't ready to leave the beach. It all worked out in the long run because the girls were able to get in a good nap before the evening festivities! :)

Laid back
That night we attended a fun dinner with David's parents complete with music, dancing and face painting! Jules was so proud of her flower and was upset when we had to take it off to go to bed.

The next day was beautiful...and HOT! David and I decided that since we were only down for the weekend that we'd take advantage and spend the whole day bouncing back and forth between the pool and the beach. Joselynn thought sand was the best thing ever and spent well over an hour picking it up and tossing it all over herself. I knew she'd be a nightmare to clean up but she was having such fun I just couldn't stop her! Juliann has also become quite the fish over the past few weeks and even jumped off of the diving board. Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures but we are super proud of her! She also loves to tell people that she swam in the ocean like a real fish!
