Immediately following my brother's wedding, we left for a much needed vacation. We flew out Sunday, July 12th from D.C. for a week at Grand Timber Lodge in Breckenridge, Colorado. Juliann was FABULOUS on her first plane ride out to Colorado, despite our 2 hour delay due to bad weather. She slept the entire flight, awoke for an hour once we landed to see what all the fuss was about, and then went right back to sleep for the hour drive out to GTL. The 2 hour time difference didn't seem to bother her either and she was better adjusted to the time change than the rest of us!
My cousin and his wife, as well as another friend, joined us for the week and we were so busy that time seemed to just fly by. We went hiking, the bos went biking, white water rafting, shopping, and LOTS of time was spent in the hot tub. Jules enjoyed many of our activities but had to watch a lot from the sidelines! Maybe in a few years.... :)

hiking near Vail Pass
the boys mountain biking down Copper Mountain
a moose at Rocky Mountain National Park
hiking at 12,005 feet at Rocky Mount National Park

the group (minus Jules sleeping in her car seat) at Rocky Mount
early morning hike behind Grand Timber
We had a wonderful time in the Rocky Mountains and its hard to believe we've been back in Virginia for almost a week now. We leave in another week for Holden Beach. Stay tuned for more adventures of the traveling baby!
*Note to any parents of infants: I highly recommend flying at night. It was much smarter than our return trip in the morning....we were those parents. You know, the ones with the uncontrollable screaming child. The ones you look at and shake your head in disgust saying, "How come they can't control their child?" I'm always bragging about how good she is, but our sweet angel was replaced with the exact opposite. She was really good for the first 2 hours, but the last hour was a nightmare. Just picture the flight attendants walking around a screaming child before we began our decent back into D.C. UGH! I'd like to blame it on her shortened nap (the food cart woke her up) or the fact that she's teething (we can actually feel a tooth) but I think the blame lies with the ones who booked the flight for the morning-not sure what we were thinking!
