With a crazy first week back at work finally over, I was really looking forward to the weekend. But, as the saying goes, "no rest for the weary." We had our neighborhood yard sale on Saturday morning so there was no sleeping in. We had a lot of stuff (aka junk) to sell and an overcast day didn't help out our cause. I think we ended up spending half of what we made on things for Jules. We got a cute pink-purple-yellow-green cubby type shelf that fits perfectly in her closet and holds lots of things. David also got a backpack carrier for $5. It is not new by any means and she won't be able to use it for a few months-but c'mon-it was $5! After a few hours, we decided we were done selling and packed up shop. We then headed to Culpepper to meet my parents, my grandmother (mom's mom), and my grandparents (dad's parents) for dinner to celebrate Mother's Day. We had a nice meal and I think everyone enjoyed seeing Juliann. The only problem we had the whole day was that Juliann seemed to be coming down with a cold and wasn't her usual happy self. In fact, she was starting to sound like Darth Vader!
Sunday was Mother's Day and, to be honest, I wasn't really expecting anything big from David. He had already admitted on Friday that he hadn't had a chance to go get a card and that Mother's Day was ALL day so there was no rush. He could go out and get me a card and flowers sometime during the day Sunday. But to my surprise, Sunday morning he pulled out a card from him, one from Juliann, and then a small little box. Inside were beautiful diamond earrings! I cried! :) Then, to make the day even more special, Juliann blessed us with about 2 minutes of true laughing! The giggles are cute, but only last a second. This was true belly laughing. David and I laughed so hard, we were crying! What a great Mother's Day!
